A Tequila with a Mission: The Adobe Brick Project

Astral Tequila isn’t just about crafting a world-class spirit—it’s about giving back. Through its Adobe Brick Project, Astral upcycles the natural byproducts of tequila production—Bagazo (agave fibers) and Vinasa (liquid runoff from distillation)—to create durable adobe bricks. These bricks are then used to build homes in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Mexico, helping families in need secure safe and sustainable housing. Every sip of Astral supports this mission, turning waste into walls and tequila into transformation.

While Astral is forward-thinking in sustainability, it remains deeply rooted in centuries-old tequila-making traditions:

  • Agaves are slow-roasted in a traditional Horno (brick oven), enhancing their rich, caramelized sweetness.

  • The agave hearts are crushed using a Tahona, a massive stone wheel that gently extracts their sweet juices.

  • Bagazo (agave fibers) is incorporated into fermentation, intensifying the tequila’s natural complexity.

  • Distilled twice in copper pot stills, a heritage process that delivers a smooth, bright, and refined spirit.

Handcrafted the Traditional Way

Astral Tequila sources its agave from both the Highlands (Los Altos) and Lowlands (El Valle) of Jalisco, Mexico, creating a uniquely complex and balanced flavor profile:
